There are many capable marketing professionals, but I’m not like a lot of others you’ll meet.
I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a liberal arts degree and a Masters in Social Work. After graduate school I ran crisis intervention and suicide prevention programs. With each job I had, I excelled in taking challenging concepts and processes and making them engaging and usable.
Realizing I wanted to use my communication skills in other ways and venues, I transitioned from social work to public relations, fundraising, and copywriting. Ultimately, I landed a job as communications leader with Op5 Creative, an Atlanta-based marketing communications company.
In 2001, I blended career paths and launched Communication Matters. Today I work with private non-profits, small businesses, and universities to address their marketing communication needs.
