Garrett is currently pursuing his master of science in sustainable tourism from East Carolina University. Garrett is the vice-president of the Students for Sustainable Tourism Club at ECU and has worked as a graduate assistant at the Center for Sustainable Tourism. He has helped further The Center's Renewable Energy in Tourism Initiative by producing a series of webinars designed to help small to medium sized tourism business with renewable energy and energy efficiency adoption. Prior to attending ECU, Garrett received a B.S. in biology from Penn State University. After graduation Garrett worked as an environmental field scientist and as a sleigh ride naturalist at the National Elk Refuge. He eventually settled in Jackson Hole, WY where he worked within the tourism industry and pursued his love of the mountains and outdoors recreation activities.
