BCLC Seeking Social Innovator Speakers for National Conference (4/17)

The Business Civic Leadership Center is seeking proposals for speakers to participate on a plenary session – “Business Solutions to Address Community Challenges.” The session will take place on Tuesday, April 17 from 10:15 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. at the Westin in Atlanta, GA. Specifically, they are looking for a small business social innovator and social entrepreneurs.

This session will be a showcase of some of the best small business social innovations in the country that have a business solution with a measured economic, environmental, and social impact. Speakers will have the opportunity to make a five minute presentation on their business solution which has a positive impact to society. Video and PowerPoint access will be available if is required for the presentation. Following the presentation, speakers will sit down to discuss their solution on a plenary moderated by a corporate BCLC member (panel moderator TBD).

At the end of the panel discussion the audience will vote on the best business concept that has the best economic, environmental and social impact. The business that gets the most votes will receive national recognition through the BCLC and U.S. Chamber network.

Suggested social innovation projects can encompass any of the below topics. Please note that you are not limited to these topics.

  • Advances in Clean Energy
  • Business Solutions for Reducing the Cost of Health Care
  • Financing Solutions
  • Water Solutions
  • Business Solutions for Better Education
