The Council of Smaller Enterprises (COSE) has extended the deadline for entries for its small business Energy Efficiency Challenge to close of business Monday, October 11, 2010.
COSE has cash prizes for businesses in four categories:
$10,000 – Grand prize winner
$2,500 – Goods and services sector
$2,500 – Office/retail sector
$1,500 – Home business sector
Applicants must be COSE members in good standing. The grand prize winner may not also be a sector winner.
COSE believes that as the market begins to reward companies, large and small, for energy efficient practices, pressure for energy efficiency in business-to-business and business-to-consumer transactions will begin to increase. COSE wants to reward its small business members any energy efficiency project they have undertaken to reduce their energy consumption and improve their bottom line.
In addition to cash prizes, winners will receive
- A free one-year COSE membership
- And a free one year registration in Green Plus™. Green Plus is a green and sustainable certification and education program that is designed specifically for small and medium sized businesses. It gives employers affordable, practical support in succeeding financially while being good to their environment, employees and community.
If you are a COSE member, nominate your company today and keep your fingers crossed that your name is called to the stage on October 20-21 at the 2010 COSE Small Business Conference to receive your award.
