Green Inc., the New York Times blog on Energy, Environment and the Bottom Line, reports that even given the current state of the economy, companies are adding Chief Sustainability Officers. The CSO, which used to be seen primarily as a compliance position, is now seen not only as critical to saving and making money but also to safeguarding the brand image of companies.
