$20,000 Cherokee Challenge: Environmental Entrepreneurship Competition

By: | Posted in: GP Staff News |

The Cherokee Challenge is a competition and accelerator designed to identify, fund and develop high impact environmental business ventures. Entrepreneurs may submit their own idea or business venture for consideration, or they may champion one of Cherokee’s ideas. Up to three ventures will be offered $20k in seed funding.

In addition to seed funding, Challenge ventures will receive free office space, complimentary back office support (incorporation, IRS compliance, accounting) from Cherokee Investment Services and mentoring from an advisory committee composed of experienced entrepreneurs and investors.

Cherokee is hosting the Challenge because it is important to make our environmental business experience available to the world. In addition to launching and growing a number of environmental businesses and managing a series of brownfield-focused private equity funds, we have invested in over 70 venture companies in the past twenty-five years. So, we feel we have some expertise to lend in regard to launching and funding environmental business ventures.”

“Challenge ventures will be well positioned to receive follow-on rounds of funding. At the end of the summer, we will host a showcase finale to allow you to present your venture to other investors. “

If you are interested in applying, please visit www.cherokeechallenge.com to submit an application. The application deadline is April 15.”
