Green Plus is a two-year, triple bottom line education, networking and recognition program. We provide member businesses with the resources they need to improve their bottom line through sustainability initiatives. The “recognition” aspect of the program is Green Plus Certification.

Member Spotlight

Growing up in Africa, Kirsten learned about sustainable development as well as environmental conservation first hand and her passion for both guides her personal and professional lives. She also serves on the board of the Hausman Foundation for the Environment, a family foundation that concentrates on environmentally significant areas of the Caribbean. She received her BA in Sociology from the University of Denver in 2004 and, after moving from Colorado to North Carolina in 2007, she started working with the Foundation for Sustainable Community helping with events and community programming. Kirsten joined the Institute for Sustainable Development in 2008 to assist in the launch of the Green Plus program; she works with Green Plus chamber partners to ensure the program’s success in their communities, as well as coordinating the communication and marketing efforts of the Institute.
